WILD & WELL
AN EQUILIBRIUM MOVEMENT RETREAT
Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica
August 21-28, 2027
Disconnect from the daily grind. Reconnect with what’s wild.
THE OSA
Where the jungle meets the sea.
There are places you visit, and then there are places that change your perspective. The Osa Peninsula is one of those places.
Wild & Well takes us deep into one of the most biodiverse places on the planet, where lush rainforest meets the Pacific Ocean and the rhythm of life moves a little differently.
We’ll call Encanta La Vida home for seven nights. Encanta is a remote, all-inclusive luxury beachfront eco-lodge tucked into the jungle of Matapalo on the Osa Peninsula. The lodge is completely solar powered, surrounded by rainforest and just a two-minute walk from the beachfront yoga shala overlooking Pan Dulce Bay.
From monkeys and scarlet macaws to waterfalls, jungle trails and world class surf, the Osa is an adventure waiting outside your door. And you don’t have to do it all. That’s the point.
Wake with the sun. Move your body. Explore the jungle. Swim. Surf. Eat well. Rest. Repeat.
PAST EQUILIBRIUM RETREAT LOVE…
“Better than I could have imagined! Our time in Costa Rica together was chill (even with 14 - 16 optional classes over 7 days), uplifting and a beautiful reminder of the community we are so lucky to have as well as the necessities of life. Being in another country and among a culture that doesn't have or indulge in some of the comforts that we do as Americans, was a great reminder of what's important in life and what's not. This group was so open, inclusive, fun and down for adventure. Gabrielle had everything perfectly planned from comfy accommodations, meals, transportation and class offerings. I've been on multiple yoga retreats & this ranks among the best. Thank you to everyone who went, Equilibrium studio and Gabrielle!”
“The "Namaste" in Costa Rica Retreat was the best gift I have given myself all year! My cheeks hurt from laughing so hard with my wonderful friends. So many fantastic meals, outings, and of course the complementary styles of teaching between morning and evening sessions. I feel so fluid and relaxed for the last quarter of the year.”
“The 2024 Costa Rica retreat with Equilibrium Movement Was an amazing experience. We were welcomed by the most gracious hosts in a beautiful environment. Gabrielle was a fun, flexible, and adventurous leader. She was up for anything and encouraged the group to go with the flow. No one in the group felt excluded. Not only did we practice yoga in a serene jungle yoga shala, but we had many cultural immersion experiences and lots of free time. I will be joining retreats with Equilibrium Movement in the future.”
DISCONNECT TO RECONNECT
Move: Two movement classes every day. Yoga, Pilates, strength, mobility, sweat and stillness, all taught in a breathtaking jungle beachfront setting.
Explore: Two guided hikes are included. For those who want more adventure, optional excursions are available at an additional cost: nature and waterfall hikes, night jungle hikes, tree climbing, horseback riding, surf lessons and more local adventures.
Surf: Experienced surfers can bring their own boards or rent locally and take advantage of the area’s incredible surf. Or don’t. Adventure is optional.
Rest: Days begin early. Nights wind down early. We move with the sun. There will be plenty of space to swim, nap, read, explore, sit in the sun or do absolutely nothing.
Unplug: We encourage you to put the phone away, slow down and let the rhythm of the jungle take over.
Come as you are. Do what you can. Be where you are.
MOVE. SURF. SLEEP. EAT. LAUGH. EXPLORE. SLOW DOWN.

THIS IS THE WILD PART.
This is a remote jungle retreat. There will be bugs. There may be rain. Cell service will be limited. Modern conveniences aren’t always at your fingertips. And that’s exactly why we’re going.
Wild & Well is for people who are willing to trade a little convenience for adventure, nature, connection and the chance to completely change their pace for a week.
If you’re looking for a traditional luxury resort, this probably isn’t your trip. If you’re craving something wild, beautiful, active, grounding and completely different from everyday life, you’re in the right place.
EAT WELL
Food is a huge part of experiencing a new place, and during this getaway we want meals to be part of that experience.
We will dine in an open-air restaurant, where talented local chefs create vibrant tropical and Latin American-inspired fusion cuisine using fresh, organic, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Encanta La Vida supports local farmers, fishermen and neighboring producers, bringing the flavors of Costa Rica directly to your table. Fresh tropical fruits and vegetables, locally caught fish and seafood, herbs and traditional ingredients come together in creative, nourishing meals that reflect the place we’re in.
Vegetarian and vegan options are available.

Must-haves: your passport (valid for at least 6 months after you arrive in Costa Rica), spending cash in US dollars, reef-safe sunscreen, sunglasses, a sun hat, a headlamp or flashlight with extra batteries, biodegradable toiletries, a journal and a camera. Pack lightly: Sansa limits luggage to 30 lbs plus a 10 lb personal item. Bring light cotton clothing for yoga, a sarong, 1 or 2 light long-sleeve shirts, shorts and tanks, one light sweater for San Jose, two swimsuits, lightweight walking shoes or supportive sandals, flip flops or water shoes, bug repellent and any personal medications. Fly into San Jose (SJO), Costa Rica. From the USA, SJO is served by American, Delta, United, Alaska, Spirit, Frontier, Southwest and JetBlue. From SJO, Sansa Air offers several short domestic flights a day to Puerto Jimenez, where our shuttle meets you for the ride to Encanta La Vida. The last Sansa flight usually leaves San Jose around 4 PM, so plan to land in SJO before noon on August 21. We will encourage the group to travel together and can book the Sansa flight directly through the retreat center, which makes changes easier and keeps everyone on the same shuttle. Passports must be valid for six months after your entry date, and all travelers need proof of a departure reservation.

The sun rises around 5 AM and sets by 6 PM year round. Temperatures range from about 69 to 92F, usually with a couple of hours of afternoon showers, but nothing that stops activities. Humidity is high, so light, airy cotton is best. Lycra is not comfortable in the jungle. San Jose is much cooler, so bring one light sweater or jacket.

We strongly encourage every guest to purchase travel insurance to protect your investment. In the event of illness, emergency, injury, theft, weather or anything else that might keep you from traveling at the last minute, travel insurance is a blessing, and it covers you in case of a medical emergency. Options include travelinsurance.com, travelinsured.com and travelguard.com.
